Still brightly wrapped In store bought hope Adorned in fresh anticipations Placed upon dark shelves To lay beside broken dreams Doomed to gather dust In the company of Lost loves never quite Forgotten yet never Fully realized or brought to Fruition … Fingers regretfully linger on Bright bows soon to fade and Fall limp in the dark confinement Of cold storage Unappreciated Never to be admired Shiny bright promise dimming As doors quietly shut On echoes of a season passed With nothing more than A brief recognition as Another season looms On the horizon … feb 2 2009 |

Nicely written MsWiz. I return gifts if I can, and if not pass them on to one who will appreciate the gift...that way I no longer see the reminder in the closet even though the thought will never leave.
