Israel Threatens 'Harsh' Retaliation Over Rocket Attacks

JERUSALEM — Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert threatened "harsh and disproportionate" retaliation after Gaza militants fired at least 10 rockets and mortar shells into southern Israel on Sunday, wounding three and raising the specter of a new round of violence days ahead of Israel's general election.

The three candidates for premier sought out microphones and cameras, leveling threats against the Hamas rulers of Gaza, an indication that the Palestinian issue is once again driving Israel's election campaign with voting set for a week from Tuesday.

A late afternoon mortar barrage on the village of Nahal Oz, next to the Gaza border fence, wounded three — two soldiers and a civilian, the military and rescue services said. Earlier, a rocket landed near a kindergarten in a community near Gaza, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said. Warning sirens sent residents scrambling for shelter.

Since an unwritten truce ended Israel's offensive in Gaza two weeks ago, a trickle of rocket and mortar fire has been increasing. Israeli retaliation, including brief ground incursions and bombing runs aimed at rocket launchers and smuggling tunnels, is also intensifying.

The violence threatened to spiral quickly into another full-scale battle.

Hamas never agreed to a truce. Israel retreated without negotiating with Hamas...
One side talks do not create a lasting truce..

Hamas will not negotiate in good faith. They are in a state of HOLY WAR with Israel. It will not end until they are wiped out.

My answer is this. We nuke them with Neutron Bombs until the hills glow. We hit the cities with FAE's and burn them to the ground. We then send in troops to call in air strikes and seal all of the caves they hide in. We tell Pakistan to kiss our asses and if they don't like it take them out and give their land to India so they can inherit the problem of keeping order in the area!

We also need to kick the UN out of New York!

We need to show the Middle East who they are Fu*king with!

All Im saying is quit calling it a truce.

I already know we disagree on how to solve the problem.

historically truces were never signed to in the past usually unless there was something formal behind it like more serious peace negotiations.
The Christmas Cease Fire during WWI is a classic example of this. There was no formal document behind it. It just happened. Shortly after January first the cannons lit up again and the war was on.
A truce is usually for the purpose for leaders to discuss treaties and the signing of formal Cease Fire agreements. Israel made a concession to the UN and they got attacked AGAIN!

So who failed who? Did the UN fail the Palestinians? Yes.
Did Hamas fail Palestine AND the UN and Israel? Yes.

Did Israel fail engaging in an unsigned truce? NO.
Did Palestine antagonize Israel Again? OH GOD YES!!

How do you solve a Holy War? If Hamas is not going to let up what is it going to take to secure peace in the region? There is only one way...

Kill the leaders, burn the temples, execute those remaining faithful to their cause. Educate the rest and show them a life beyond killing in the name of God and hating others that think differently from themselves!

Poverty is a problem of the area but so is government corruption to a degree you may not understand fully or appreciate!

The UN cannot stop this and it would be nice for people to start to see this for what it is. Talk and negotiation is NOT the answer to all of the problems we face! It can help in some cases but in a Holy War forget it! Money and reason do not mean SHI* to those involved in the Jihad.
