Former U.S. President Jimmy Carter has become the latest, and perhaps most prominent, public figure to express support for a new investigation into the 9/11 attacks.

We Are Change Ohio attended a book signing by the former President in Chicago. Despite the best efforts of secret service personnel to abduct the person recording the conversation, the audio of Carter’s words were still captured.

Carter was asked, “I was just wondering if you’d support the victims’ family members that want a new investigation into 9/11.”

Carter clarifies the question before responding, “Yeah, I don’t have anything to do with it but I certainly would….it would be nice.

In October 2004, Carter told the London Guardian newspaper that President Bush exploited the 9/11 attacks and that the press had not held him to account.

“The basic reason is that our country suffered, in 9/11, a terrible and shocking attack … and George Bush has been adroit at exploiting that attack, and he has elevated himself, in the consciousness of many Americans, to a heroic commander in chief, fighting a global threat against America,” Carter said.

“He’s repeatedly played that card, and to some degree quite successfully. I think that success has dissipated,” he added.

Carter responded to the atmosphere at the time by slamming the notion that questioning Bush’s actions was unpatriotic.

His rebuke for media cowardice about asking tough questions about the “war on terror” was also stinging.

“The press have been cowed, because they didn’t want to be unpatriotic. There has been a lack of inquisitive journalism. In fact, it’s hard to think of a major medium in the United States that has been objective and fair and balanced, and critical when criticism was deserved,” said Carter.

Carter’s support for a new investigation into 9/11 has been echoed by innumerable prominent public figures both in and out of politics over the last few years.

Former Minnesota Governor Jesse Ventura, former Italian President Francesco Cossiga, UK MP Michael Meacher, Japanese MP Fujita Yukihisa, former German Defense Secretary Andreas von Buelow, music icon Willie Nelson, and even vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin have all expressed support for a new inquiry into the September 2001 attacks.

I find the postulation that the media wasn't crtitical of the Bush Admin's handling of the war or that criticism wasn't engaged in when deserved to be totally laughable.

Are we talking about the same media? The same media that chose to give us 6 months of Anna Nicole Smith, rather than cover the war?

First off, Where does it say that the media wasn't critical?

Let me break it down into smaller parts, I try to be helpful.

“The press have been cowed, because they didn’t want to be unpatriotic. There has been a lack of inquisitive journalism. In fact, it’s hard to think of a major medium in the United States that has been objective and fair and balanced, and critical when criticism was deserved,” said Carter.

This means that, not unlike other things, the MSM in this country never really bothered to ask the right questions and what tough questions they did ask, they hardly ever follow up on. In fact, they have a nice history of complicit behavior. Case in point: The NY Times KNEW the Bush admin were doing illegal wiretapping and at the behest of the Globalist puppet regime known as the Bush Administration, chose to SIT ON THE STORY. This is from a news organization I've heard repeatedly called a "Liberal" leaning news organization.

If you buy into the media having done their G'Dam*ed jobs, then I suggest you should also check into the bridge I've got to sell.

no, I'll agree that there has been a lack of true journalism from top to bottom in the nation's collective media, with rare exception. Mostly they've made a living on blindly attacking all things bush, coservative and/or republican. As for, the NYT sitting on a story of wire-tapping, I'll have to go look for some source on that. but taking it at face value, I'm no fan of illegal wiretapping but not all wiretaps are illegal. if the NYT sat on a story that would potentially defame the former president, it was likely an isolated incident as the times has done little but ridethe bush presidency all the way to near bankrupcy and done little to actually be constructive in the war on terror. does "General Betray-us" sound familiar?

It's a contrived and petty opposition.

Where was the NY times when it came out about the "Bin Laden" put options on all the Companies that were going to loose huge stock money as a result of 9/11?

Where was CNN when it came out that the exact same illegal wiretapping has been going on long before 9/11 was used as an excuse?

What happened to Fox News when the story broke that one of the controllers of the 9/11 commission was on the phone with Karl Rove daily (it got a small mention, with no follow up)?

Where was MSNBC, People Magazine, the LA Times or any other media outlet, when Dr.Pauls Campaign for Liberty out sold the RNC by several thousand people, in a stadium just across the river?

My point is, the media in this country fakes at doing their job, Bush only got treated in a way that looked worse for a reason. Bush, in his manipulated ineptness was used to create a hatred. That hatred was then channeled to create the "yes we can" movement of people who would have rathered shoot themselves than face 4 more years of centrist, mindless faux leadership that they have perceived to only come from the Republican party. That energy, that hatred has been used to create what I like to call the Obama-Zombie.

"Yessss.... weeeee...caannnn.... Brains...."

It's all about manipulating the unitiated.
