I admit it! I admit it!

I like American Idol becuase the kids are getting genuine feedback on
how they are performing. I worry that our society has given itself over
to 'self esteem' at the expense of performance and excellence and a
realistic view of how a person is doing as they grow up.

Kids know, I think, when they are being conned by adults and praised
without genuine reason. So it is not surprising to me that kids would
like American Idol -- a badly needed example of genuine feeback.

I work with kids quite a bit, and I've noticed for years that kids don't
mind receiving criticism when they know it is well-intentioned; they
have contempt for adults who sugar-coat things and give them unearned
praise....

i only get one channel so not much t.v for me but i do watch survivor

sorry, I can not stand them. I think they are pointless and was only
created because they ran out of ideas for better programing. I really do
not care to see what people are doing. They have gone WAY beyond over
board with all of these. I do not watch TV but when I do I like programs
that have a story line to it.

I have just one question about survivor. There was a season where they
jumped off the boat, and had to "survive" with just the clothes on their
backs. This was the one where they did not startw ith fir eeither I
believe. The big hairy guy (sorry papa but I htink of you when I see
him lol) had a full beard when he jumped ship. the following week he
was cleanshaven. How the hell did he manage that with only the clothes
onhis back and nothing else? let alone to STAY clean shaven al season?

Sorry, JMO..but I think they are a waste of airtime...again, JMHO

most of them r pretty stupid..i like 'fear factor' though..thats a
pretty cool show
