There was an issue at a local school here today in Colubia, SC. A kid
from a local high school waited across the street outside of a coffee
shop with a guy, with full intentions on using it. The kid told a lot
of people on friday that they shouldn't come to school today, because he
was gonna shoot the place up. Well today, he was across the street, a
few students seen the guy, and reported it to the principal of the
school. You would have thought that they would have called the cops, but
NO, they didn't, not until hours later. I honestly don't know if it was
the school who called the cops, or numorous parents who did the calling.
After the first block classes in the school, everybody knew what was
going on, students started to get worried, and started taking there cell
phones out and calling parents, not until then did any cops show up. It
seems to me, after the first report, the cops should have been there
and the school should have been put on lock down. What do you guys
think about this/ Have any of you heard about this/

No I haven't heard about his one but infortunately when there are
shootings like at Virginia Tech...there are always copy cat shooters
that come after....In fact the guy that did the shooting at V. Tech
called the Columbine shooters martyres on the tapes he sent to
NBC!!!!!!! So he obviously looked up to them in some sick way!!!!!!!!!

No I did not hear of this one either and she is right after something
like this happens there will be many copy cats I am sorry you or friends
has to go through that and the principle will definately have issues
taken with him and very likely will lose his job over not taking care of
his students cause there will be parents storming the school board of
that.

I didn't hear about that, but it doesn't
surprise me. The school probably wants
it hushed up.

It seems the first priority for many schools
is: 'Cover your a**'.

They put their reputation over the safety
of their students.

This has got to stop.

Right after the VA incident: here in Oklahoma, we had several lock
downs. The colleges and some local schools. Threats and the such. Even
one had a gun brought to school.

This stuff needs to be nipped in the bud right away. No more on and on
TV broadcasts about it. Tell it, leave it alone. This crap is turning
into who can out do the others.

There is no word yet on what they done to the kid, but honestly i think
if you're old enough to make a threat and then go and do it..you should
be punished as an adult, no matter how old you are. I'll keep you guys
informed on what's going on.
