Never feel useless Cindy. You are doing the best you can and the parents need to understand that Very few days are productive, (on her end)...makes me feel so useless sometimes when I don't get results. Parents are in denial...wants her treated like any other 6th grader. So she's in General classes...can't do the work mind you, but Mom wants her in with her peers. With all the documentation I have been keeping, hopefully in the end, Mom will realize this isn't the route this child should be taking. |

Very few days are productive, (on her end)...makes me feel so useless sometimes when I don't get results. Parents are in denial...wants her treated like any other 6th grader. With all the documentation I have been keeping, hopefully in the end, Mom will realize this isn't the route this child should be taking. We have a similar situation in my school. A new student who had been home schooled since August. No records of an IEP or any history of modifications. For the last three weeks he has thrown temper tantrums...throwing chairs, desks, items, etc... Sent to the office, sent home... Finally, had the psycologist come in to observe...and wouldn't you know it...he had a perfect day...did what he was told...no sign of problems. Last couple of days have been better. Hope it lasts. |
