Gosh, you should see a doctor if you haven't already so it can be determined if you have a nose problem or a throat that closes, etc., and if you need a CPAP machine or a surgery.

If you go to WEBMD.com and look up sleep apnea there should be an abundance of info.

my aunt has this
and she has the machine

I don't know if surgery can help, but see a doctor as soon as possible.

Talk to your doctor, the chances of a successful surgery are dependent on things like the size of your tonsils and the way your toungue sits in your throat. An ENT doctor will be able to figure this out for you.

An ear ,nose and throat doctor can help-
also a pulmonologist...
they can refer you for a sleep study(if you haven't
already had one) and you can discuss options:

surgery is one
the cpap machine can be very succesful for some people-and you may not need it forever-
it's also covered under insurance if medically necesary

some people also can benefit from an oral appliance made by a dentist for sleep apnea...

which again , may be covered by insurance.

btw... I work for a sleep disorder labhappy

I snore like a lumberjack convention... doesn't bother me!!

But seriously, I have sleep apnea (my throat relaxes and air doesn't get through). I have CPAP machine and I hate it.
