I know this may be getting annoying but I am asking for some prayers/vibes/well wishes for my Dad again. He is going in to the hospital in the morning for a procedure on his eye and he is freaking out.
He has dementia and Alzheimer's, aside from his diabetes and this is all getting to be a big health issue, so the whole family is kind of on pins and needles. Thank you all for the prayers...etc. in the past few months.

Prayers going out for your dad!! My grandpa has 'macular degeneration' in his left eye, went to a doctor, but he waited 2 long! Pretty soon he won't be able to see out of it!
 I hope it's not that for your father!

Thank you so much everyone, we are trying to tell him that this surgery isn't bad and that he will be fine. But he keeps saying he never heard of it and that he doesn't want to be a guinea pig and he won't go to the hospital in the morning.

Sorry Dad is scared. With Alziemer's technical explanations are going to pretty much be lost on him. One advantage is he is very suggestible to distractions with conversations on another subject. He will pick up a lot on your mood so do the best to relax yourself. Eye surgery's are stunningly sucessful if the doctor's choose to do them you are likely to have a really good result. At the hospital they will make him comfortable and he might even enjoy the attention once he is there. Good Luck. I have been keeping you on my prayer list so don't have a second thought about asking for all the support you want.

Will keep your dad and your family in my thoughts and prayers. I hope everything goes well. Alzheimer's does make it harder, they are harder to reason with, but as Pacific said, try to be calm and distract him if you can. Take care of yourself. You have been through a lot this year.

I have spent the weekend getting my 85 year old mother out and away from a bad place,,to come and live with me,,, And she is fine,,but leaving her daughter there,,and she's really depressed for her...so its been emotional here to.. I PRAY FOR NO PAIN AND QUICK RECOVERY...
