Hey, just watched the first of the last 10 episodes of BSG and I am stoked. It was amazing but there is no one here to talk to about it. One question answered but like 50 unleashed. Anyways, just wondered if any one else cared enough to chat about it.

Meh. The show went from "space opera" to "soap opera in space" by around the middle of its run. The whole concept got old really fast.
The producers and writers are struggling to figure out how to end the show in a non-sucky manner. And that'll probably mean more "soap opera in space" nonsense. |

The show did change a little when they started trying to do "stand alone" episodes. But I have already invested so much time watching every episode I feel like I just have to see an ending. Yes, I think the writers have been making it up as they go along I have gradually realized this and I hope they have an ending that makes sense

It probably will... if you've been taking LSD while you were watching the shows.
I've pretty much given up on the greater plot of the show (whether or not the humans will get to Earth or not)- I just watch it to see who that blonde Cylon chick decides to do the "filthy mcnasty" with next.

Well, they found Earth but the final cylon seems like kind of a let down. Now I am just wondering how they are gonna resolve all these plot threads they have left dangling.

They'll probably use the tried-and-tired "quick fix" to tie everything up with.
They'll use some incredibly-lame thingy to try to mash all the major plot points together with that will result in an incredibly-lame "happily ever after" ending. |

I was pretty shocked it was Ellen...I was hoping for Doc or maybe even Zach Adama. Hey what or who is Starbuck??? Maybe she is a Hybrid? No, I idea but I am so going to look forward to the next show. Can't believe it is over in 10 epi's!

Awww come on....aren't you the least bit curious?? I love the show, the acting and writing in this last episode were phenomenal (sp?)!! Have some faith.

There is also the question of what exactly is going on with Baltar and the virtual beings he sees sometimes and what are their true nature.

And they're about ready to bring that Cavil schmuck (played by that old dude from "Quantum Leap") for that totally yawn-inspiring final battle that will kinda foil the peaceful plans of the humans and not-evil cylon types.
It's like I said- a quick-fix is coming. I wouldn't be surprised if it were along the lines of the last episode of "The Sopranos" or something- they just cut to a black screen after Edward James Olmos says, "Mah spoon iz too big!". |

I think it is difficult to maintain the same level of urgency in a television series the way BSG was when it first came out. Although I was hoping that their was some underlying plan to all of it(and there is a some congruency to it all),I still think the show had a lot of original ideas and presented a lot of old ideas in a refreshing way. I think it was all worth it. I probably would have preferred them find a modern Earth like in the original series. That would have been the way I would have done it. Still, I like the future destroyed Earth idea. I just wish I would finally start getting some real answers to stuff instead of just hints about everything.

What'll probably happen is this-
They'll all find out that they're all Cylons and have been taking part in some hella big-time simulation in trying to find the REAL humans who escaped the REAL Cylon holocaust way back in the day- they're hoping that they'll reach some iteration of Cylon/human wannabees crafty enough to escape from the Cylons, which would eventually lead them to the real humans... where the REAL poop hits the fan. The "quick fix". |

Yeah I'm betting they are all Cylons replaying the holocaust over and over. It happened before and it will happen again. There are no humans left..
