Why do people love the idea of being independant, but feel better when they have someone to depend on and love? True independence comes with confident ability to weather the vagaries of life. That is what people love about independence. It means that they have made the grade, and CAN DO what needs doing. They grew up. They feel better with another person of similar achievement. Just like rowing a boat. I can do it, and you can do it, but we can do it better together, and with less effort, and get further more quickly. Ain't it neat?
