I'm a little confused about the meaning of this song. What do you think??

A Perfect Circle "The Noose"

So glad to see you well
Overcome and completely silent now
With heaven's help
You cast your demons out
And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you off your cloud
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're planning to go about
Making your amends to the dead
To the dead

Recall the deeds as if
They're all someone else's
Atrocious stories
Now you stand reborn before us all
So glad to see you well

And not to pull your halo down
Around your neck and tug you to the ground
But I'm more than just a little curious
How you're planning to go about
Making your amends to the dead
To the dead

With your halo slipping down
Your halo slipping
Your halo slipping down
Your halo slipping down
Your halo slipping down [repeated]

Your halo slipping down to choke you now

Sounds kind of like someone thought they had gotten rid of the bad within them, but they really didn't.

So they killed someone (maybe not in the literal sense, but still killed them in some way) and now it's like the thing they thought was so wonderful about themselves---the goodness in them, the halo, is now the thing that chokes them, because they are not as much a demon-free angel as they once thought.

Very interesting lyrics...I've never heard the song though. Hope you're having a good night Redhead! waving

This is about what drugs do to you, and how you perceive them. It's about someone who has had a drug or drinking problem, and went through the steps to get rid of it. Once free of the addiction, this person denies he ever even had a problem. The song is a wake-up call to people like that, reminding them that they did have a problem and they shouldn't just erase it from their memory.

hmmmm... interesting.

The more I listen to the song an read the lyrics. I get that maybe someone killed some like a drunk diver or something, they are in rehab to get better, they do but still feel bad for killing that other person.

this song is about suicide people. They think that if they die they can get rid of the demons inside of them and the halo represents heaven and when they say bringing down the halo it means that the demons are bringing you to hell. So suicide is not the answer of getting rid of the demons.

Listen to "Inside the Fire" by Disturbed it is also about suicide.

No. More like the saying, "Don't let your halo choke you."

I always thought it was about Judas betraying Jesus, and hanging himself from the guilt.

*shrugs*

I'm not religious, but a lot of their songs are.
