Howbout just simply attractive? That is what I usually use to describe women. so when you look at a girl and wanting to give her a compliment you say "wow you're so attractive!" ? lol just sounds weird. Haha. No. I would say something like "I think you are a very attractive lady". Putting an emphasis on the very. Too boring? Too mature? |

i personally HATE being called cute, hot, "smokin" ... that's all ridiculous to me. i like being called beautiful or something of that nature. how do you feel ladies? and guys, can you explain the difference between all these different adjectives from the MALE point of view, and why some are never used? cute, sexy, gorgeous, hot, smokin, pretty, beautiful... etc i hate it when a guy calls me babe or hon.if im not with them, then they shouldnt have any right to call me that.. that bugs me |

I also think woman are guilty of getting all different words from guys, because they fish for compliments all the time!

This forum is awesome!!! It really shows the difference between the sexes...Most guys see an attractive lady and say "She's so hot!!!" or something to that extent.... most every lady in this house has said "I don't like hot because...<insert excuse here>" So is it OK if I use HAWT instead? j/k |

Yes, it is true that some men lack education and tact. But GROW UP!! It is amusing that some people come on here and wonder why they cannot find someone. Perhaps it comes down to the fact that you hold people to a higher standard than you do yourself. |

I think what she's trying to say is "hot" doesn't come across as sincere as "beautiful" does.

well, it could be what people think of me without even knowing me described as: evil, wicked, mean, and nasty, deceitful, ugly, bitter, hidious, and abomidable. anything spoken with pure heart rather than sarcasm or sexist remarks are compliments at any rate. most are tougue tied and the words just come out nervously at best, so...appreciate a positive compliment.
