Do you or have you ever loved someone and know it could never be. I have, she is married to a great guy now, I knew that there could never be anything with us, so I just had to get over it and be good friends

yup i did. it was my first love, but she cast herself in an unfavorable light, her loss.

I do... And she loves me back.. We don't see each other, but email and talk often on the phone... IF we were together all the time, we'd probably fight like cats and dogs...

Yea, I blew it with my High School girlfriend. For years, I tried looking her up. 8 years ago I saw her profile on Classmates along with her new name. About 5 years ago, I stumbled on her phone number and called. She was very brief and let me know she has been happily married for a few years and didn't want to hear from me again. I missed her all these years, since 1971 but now, the subject is closed and I know where I stand with her. I wished her all the best and said goodbye.
