If I could ever find a cool girl who could drink on my level, I swear to God I'd marry her.

Margarita Mondays for lyfe!

Misery loves company....anyone tell you that one of the first sign that you are in trouble with alcohol is that you have to find new friends to accomodate your drinking? I am very familiar with the Navy. Yes they will look the other way when you drink until just ONCE they catch you on duty drunk or behind the wheel then you can kiss your career and your freedom good bye.

i wonder how long the navy is going to hold you..
they arent going to put up with that at all

Actually some bases there are only 2 options: Get drunk or get Big. Some bases regulate how much contact we can have with the native population.. i.e. Haiti. So you either drink your time away or hit the gym hard. Sadly most choose to drink over there.

That is and excuse.

You have a lot of other options.

Maybe learning what you need to know to be a credit to your shipmates is one.

You might want to think how many people are depending on you to do your job and how many people on this site are family of those people. I don't need a drunk on any mission that could cross paths with the ones I care about.

I worked in the rehab of a VA. There's a long waiting list.

I believe my original point has been misconstrued, I don't drink and drive or work while drunk. I'm just saying I LOVE to party and LOVE women who LOVE to party. why so serious everyone?

""Yes, madam, I am drunk. But in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.""

From your profile.

Maybe we care if someone becomes an alcoholic.

i agree.. i had a old bf that was and i still think he is a alcoholic. he doesnt live in town anymore. and i wasent attracted to him when he was drunk, in fact i walked away several times. i didnt want to deal with it.. and its not funny
even though you dont drink in drive alcohol can still kill you.. like i said i have a cousin that died from alcohol poison.. but i guess you dont care about your ownself to let someone that doesnt drink be better for you
any woman can have a sense of humor without drinkingnoway

Because you have and oathe to support that being a party dog is going to flush right down the tubes with every one of my tax dollars to train and support you.

The other is that if you are in the Navy you have been blessed with substanial good health, intelligence, and opportunity that you appear to be wasteing.

The last and the most important is that you have joined the Mingle community. And as such when those with more life experience (and caring than you seem to have for yourself) speak up it is because you have said something that makes it appear you are heading for a cliff.

You might want to listen because there are a wide ranges of ages and we really have nothing to gain by being serious when most of us come in here to have fun. You might want to say THank You that so many are allowing you the grace to look out for you so you are around for a long time.

Well thanks for the advice and I am trying to have fun here, and maybe meet someone worthwhile, but pleas don't tell me that I am wasting your tax dollars, especially since I just came back from a 6 months overseas deployment where I did not drink, but spent all day keeping an eye on our enemies, and maintaning a complicated electronic weapon system.

I don't expect you to understand because you've never been there, you may have known someone who was, but yet you haven't. You can only gather so much from what someone tells you, am I wrong?

I need a beer.

That's what is troubling - you "need" a beer.flowerforyou

I've seen so many vets in rehab that "needed" a beer.

Oh well some people just know so much at such a young age. Take them off the block and suddenly they know everything.

Does make one wonder if I will eventually be seeing his hard head opposite my desk. It seems like they just keep coming and fewer and fewer resources to do anything to turn them around.

Sure seems like the military is failing to get across to young people what alcohol abuse is all about. Somehow feeling military duty entitles them to get loaded.

Or who it is they work for. No wonder more and more vets are having a hard time getting work when they get out.

why would the gov care what people do to them selfs. as far as im concerned you can start drinking at 10 and the gov will just say hmm more money for our asses wtf send him some more so we can get some more money.

any way most vets are out their getting good jobs so i have no clue what your talking about.

Sadly people stereotype vets, nevermind what they did to defend your freedom of speech.
