Honesty is one thing... but a lot of that stuff, you really shouldn't advertise like that. If you get to talking to someone, then of course it would need to be mentioned at the appropriate time. Are you really looking for a relationship? Or just a place to stay? Maybe you need a different venue for what you are trying to accomplish. Just my opinion of course...

How do people get on the internet if they have no place to stay? That has always confused me. Are you staying with friends now? That sucks that you got layed off. We just keep hearing about more and more job issues and it's only going to get worse before it gets better. Are there others who are layed off and in the same boat that you could get a small apt. and share bills with? Maybe other single dads?

I read your profile and I think you sound like a great guy. More honest and descriptive than most. It's rather refreshing... The unemployed thing doesn't scare me, as I'm in that same boat. But I won't be there for long... something's gotta give... I keep looking and I'm confident I'll find something.

You might want to put your usual profession and disclose the unemployed thing once you've started talking to someone. It may limit the number of hits you get.

I have had my share of men who didn't hold jobs and I ended up supporting them... so it can be a turn-off upfront anyway.
