http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gateway_Arch

Here's a couple of links that tell about it and have photos.

It represents the "Gateway to the West". It's very tall.
You ride trams to the top. From the top, you can see across St. Louis, MO on one side and Illinois on the other. It also has a historical museum in the bottom. Tourists come to see it. It overlooks the Mississippi River.

Hmmmmmmm $13 million to build an arch. Thats crazy.....my first thoughts are.....how many people could have used that money towards education and healthcare instead. But it is a nice arch.

I guess the revenue it generates with tourists pays for itself.

Dear Queenie:
We've got too many drones already. Keeping them all healthy and educated just breeds more of the same, which leads to further strains to burden the failing system. I may not know the answer, but I do not see making a bad situation worse as the way to solve the problems.
In the words of somebody smart, "If that isn't working, stop doing it."

Sincerely yours,
Old Educated Working Drone:tongue:

It does attract the tourists and the tourists stay in the hotels.

It is a nice landmark.

It's downtown and we have many activities in the park area around the Arch. Lots of music. Huge July 4.

Oh..forgot...the Arch is the tallest building in the U.S.

Ok

I'm heading away into the grand Working Drone World, to pay taxes that support the illegal aliens and lazy people and scammers that collect food stamps and low income housing and all those other wonderful things that Truly Smart People get to enjoy.

You have a wonderful day, too!

I get to Earn More Money!! Wooohoo!!

bye now!

We had an old railway burn up in a fire here a few years ago. Our stupid govt wants to put in a zillion dollars to resurrect it!!! WTF????? People are starving in the world and they want to up our taxes to pay for an old railway???? fhjfdkashjkfdsahjkdfsajkfda!!!explode grumble

I do think that some things are great generators of money. It creates job creation, which is a good thing.

Now as for education and healthcare......too many smart people? Smart is irrelevant. There are many educated people. They dont have to be doctors or lawyers. Educated could mean a tradesman, a carpenter, they all have to be educated.

Healthcare should be for EVERYONE and not just the rich, JMO!!flowerforyou

Have you ever seen that movie called "Dave"???? I think thats what it was called. About an average joe who was a double for the president. He took the basic problems of the world and used simple math.....

I wonder if that type of thing could be used. Quit paying the higher up do nothings and put the money to good use!surprised
