I'm just curious where people stand now. I know inter-racial dating has been happening much more in recent years, but I also know that there are people who think that it's wrong.

I've dated a black girl and we've gotten many looks while we were out, but never anything more than those looks.

Are we as a nation finally moving past race? Or are people just holding their tongues now?

At one time I had a rather serious, year long relationship with a woman of another race. There were definitely some people who gave us funny looks, and there always will be! But, that's no reason to discriminate against anyone. If you find someone you can connect with, the exact amount of melanin in their skin shouldn't matter, even if it matters to some people even in your own family.

They are very happy couple, more than a few I know being married to white girls

I also know a very nice white girl who has been married to Keith a nice black guy for the last 28 years.

In my case the only type that I haven't dated yet are the Asians

I find that IN GENERAL Asians want to date their own type mostly. That is except the girls from Philippines.

I think that the majority of people are accepting, at least on the outside. Like you said, the ones who are not comfortable usually keep it to themselves or talk about it only with people who have the same opinions as them.

I think it's really the same with any relationship outside of the "norm" - people who date with a large age difference, gay and lesbian couples, interracial couples, and any other variation you can think of. Anybody who has ever been in a relationship like that can feel people staring, hear comments through people who know them, and know that prejudice is never really gone from this world.

To me, it's about what you prefer. I don't tend to date outside my race, because the attraction just isn't there. I'm not gonna sit here and lie and pretend to say I would just to please this nation. Preference is key in anything your attracted to.

I think that it's a little bit of both. Because we are finally moving past race, the others are starting to hold their tongues. It's about time.

Both my kids have "inter-racial" significant others so it's a good thing I DON'T CARE!

Of course, I suppose one could argue that even Caucasians are white inter-racial mutts...lordy, have you ever tried to do a family tree??? It's the craziest thing!

Dude, I have had black guys get PISSED seeing me with a black girl under my arm. All I can tell them is I will lay off tasty Nubian delights when they lay off fat blond white women. Till then they can go 'over a bridge' as a Trini friend of mine would say.
I don't hate when a black man walks by with a hot white woman under his arm. I may be a little jealous but so what. As long as they are happy I celebrate their happiness!
