No, he was sober as a judge. We got in this long discussion last night about non-Nordic black metal bands (for example, Impiety, who hails from Singapore). We talked about the differences between the live and the studio versions of Impiety's song, "Bestial Genocidal Goat Vomit." He also was very insistent that I check out the band, "Revenge." We talked about how Hank Williams, Sr. has more in common with punk and metal than with the pseudo-country "artists" of today. I've never seen a metal fan SO serious about his music choices. No way he could pull that off drunk. |

No way he could pull that off drunk. Impiety is so well known because they put Black Metal on the map for Singapore along with Abhorer who are another great black metal singapore band. I have their only actual LP, Zygotical Sabbatory Anabapt. The rest I have burned. For another non-Nordic black metal kick, try some Turkish (Moribund Oblivion & ...aaaarrghh...) & Indonesian Black Metal (Drosophila & Immortal Rites). And which Revenge are you talking about? The Canadian band, the Greek band or the Polish one? |
