Topic: Hitler used the support of Christians

Hitler used the support of Christian's to wage war of the world and become ultimate ruler of the world. Well at least he tried and luckily failed with the help of many nations making sure that Germany didn't succeed.

And even though this war has ended over 60 years ago, I ask you what has the human race learned from it?

My opinion not much..... and I will tell you why

The US government offered around 30 reasons for the Iraq Invasion.

One of the reasons is

"George sees this as a religious war. He doesn't have a p.c. view of this war. His view of this is that they are trying to kill the Christians. And we as the Christians will strike back with more force and more ferocity than they will ever know."

Also part of the new crusade is Lt. Gen. William G. "Jerry" Boykin, the Deputy Undersecretary of Defense for Intelligence. When not leading the hunt for bin Laden and other top prizes in the war on terror, Boykin appears in full uniform in front of fundie gatherings and says things like:

"We in the army of God, in the house of God, kingdom of God have been raised for such a time as this."

When speaking of one of his Muslim adversaries, he thunders:

"I knew my God was bigger than his. I knew that my God was a real God and his was an idol."

Another reason that has received almost zero public attention was proffered by Philip Zelikow, who at the time was on the President's Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board.

This influential body monitors intelligence agencies - including the CIA, NSA, and Defense Intelligence Agency - and its reports directly to the President.

Members have above top-secret security clearance, which allows them access to any classified information as part of a panel at the Univesity of Virginia on September 10, 2002 - right when the Administration started hard selling the upcoming invasion - Zelikow said:

"Why would Iraq attack America or use nuclear weapons against us? I'll tell you what I think the real threat (is) and actually has been since 1990: It's the threat against Israel.

Fortunately George Washington denied a third term as president and made sure to instill it as a law. Imagine George Bush would have won the third term as President. Do you think he would have insured that we would have a third world war by now?

and think of the escaluating wars going on at this moment between Israel and the Hamas - Palestinen's. Isn't this a consequence at this moment. Do you think the US has something to do with it?

I shed a tear that religion is a reason to influence nations to go to war. When will it end?

Wars need winning sometimes for survival. When a people are so barbaric that all they want to do is kill, it's time to call a spade & spade.

There is no reason for terrorist activity, especially since Hamas has been sending in rockets for months. No nation should have to put up with barbaristic people. Hamas & all those who voted them in are without excuse. There is no such thing as innocent civilians in that neck of the woods.

How about holding their feet to the fire? Wouldn't that be refreshing but I must say that's what happens when the line of decency get blurred.

There is alot of anti-Semitism on these boards along with anti-Americanism. CHAOS! That's a self destruction that can blow up civility everywhere. Those who talk the talk are dealing in treachery. That why they are called the COUNTER culture!

There will never be an end of wars. even if it continues to be an undeclared war. I happen to believe most countries are involved behind the scenes right now.

and it is a war spun from a mixture of religion and greed.

I have to go with you on war.

It is sad we hear about Martin Luther ,calvinism and so on.

Yet you hear very little about The Poor men of Lyons..Who refused during the 1200's to pick up arms against the Pope and Spoke against what he was telling the people and how they were treated unjustly.

800,000 of them died and the rest scattered.

They are the only group that I know of that since constanine in 325ad has Actually Taught and believed Thou Shall not Kill.

What these people did was testify of thier Faith in Eternal Life.

That Yahweh was in control that they will do thier part and if dieing is part of it then they will do it as a Testimony to all That Thier is a ressurection to come.

Going to war and Killing is saying Yahweh is not inn control.

Sadly though it has been the excuse for i believe all wars since Yahshua..Blessings...Miles

OH Geez, Thomas already did that thread!...

Thankfully Bush didn't have a third term, I'm sorry he was given two. But thankfully again he's about out of there.

It amazes me that a country that says it's so smart, had to go to full out war instead of finding the people involved and dealing with them.

I believe Quakers are a pacifist group.

Nazi ideology developed on the road prepared for it by Lanz and other devotees of Neo-Paganism. One of the most important Nazi ideologues, Alfred Rosenberg, thought that Christianity could not provide the spiritual energy needed by the new Germany being established by Hitler, and declared openly that the German people must return to their ancient pagan religion. According to Rosenberg, when the Nazis came to power, religious symbols in churches should be removed and replaced by swastikas, a copy of Hitler's book " Mein Kampf " (My Struggle) and swords symbolizing German invincibility. Hitler adopted the views of Rosenberg but, thinking it would cause too much of a reaction among the people, he did not put this new theory of German religion into effect.

As to the causes of war, I believe they can be due to politics, economics or security. The Romans under Julius Caesar spread their empire far and wide bringing back loot and riches which were lavished on the nobility. Julius Caesar won such great influences that the month Quintilis was renamed Julius in his honour. His very person was declared sacred, and statues of him were placed in temples.

So I believe ego can and has been a cause for many great and terrible wars, Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini being only two examples of extremely egotistical characters.

Correct Britty...that's what happens when man gets in God's way.
