Questions are coming up yet again about online dating. So hopefully the following information will be helpful.

1. First and foremost, love and respect yourself before seeking out a relationship! And know what you want out of it!

There has been a some couples that have split because all of one of the couple doesn't know what they want or go back to an ex or simply disapear.

2. Use the time, space and distance of online dating to your advantage. Truly take time to get to know someone before deciding to meet them.

It seems, from other female's experiences and mine, that the sooner a guy wants to meet, the more likely he is a jerk.

3. Never give out your personal information to just anyone! This includes phone numbers, personal emails, or information. Any relationship takes trust, just like online relationships.

4. If the person is on and offline for periods of time with no explaination except 'I was busy'. This maybe a sign that the person is married or in a relationship or not who they say they are! This is not always the case but could be, especially if they claim they are interested in you but seem to disappear!

5. If they appear to be too good to be true, they probably are!

If it seems odd to you that a successful set-in career, soccer team coaching, home and boat owning individual has interest in your let alone has time to spend getting to you know online, it just might be too good to be true. Yet again there is always the exception.

6. Don't be afraid to ask questions! And if the other person is not receptive or avoids answering, this is red flag to walk away. The purpose of dating online is to get to know people. In order to get to know them, you have to ask and answer questions.

7. Trust your gut! If something tells you that the other person is lying, they probably are! If there is one place, besides a dark alley, that you show trust your instincts, it's online!

I am sure over this past year, I have stated much more, but this is the basics. And always be honest to yourself!
