These are just from what I've seen.

Best Documentaries - Man On Wire, Bigger,Stronger,Faster

Funniest - Zack and Miri Make A Porno, Harold & Kumar 2, Tropic Thunder

Pleasant surprises - Untraceable, Son Of Rambow, Cloverfield, CJ7, Felon, Quid Pro Quo

Biggest dissapointments - Quantum Of Solace, Indiana Jones & The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Mister Lonely, Hellboy 2

Best Comic book adaptations - The Dark Knight, Iron Man, The Incredible Hulk

Overall...a pretty bad year for movies. It can only get better for 2009.

Iron Man and the Dark Knight were pretty good. I recently saw Milk and Slumdog Millionaire - they were excellent !

For '08, I loved Forgetting Sarah Marshall, The Dark Knight, and Burn After Reading :)

I haven't seen anything that's been getting any sort of Oscar buzz, so I gotta get on that D:

I watched it the other night. I would add it to my "pleasant surprises" section. You can't go wrong with the Coen Brothers.
