Why is it..... local women will not give you the time of day. Out of state women will talk all night, return emails, and seem friendlier in general. Maybe it's just me, or my profile....huh

I don't think it's you -- I've had that exact same experience over the whole two years I've been here.

Trying to even communicate with the locals is a complete waste of time. But you should see how many e-mails I get from people who are 897,000 miles away....

Not sure lol, I do most of the emailing with little respond here or in person. I guess I really must have it bad if no one wants to talk to me to much or whatever. frustrated

Maybe they are more comfortable with you because you are more 'unavailable'. If that makes any sense. *shrugs*

I think its a comfort thing. If someone is a plane ride away versus a 20 minute car ride away, its just safer in a way. Everyone I am chatting with is either an ocean away or a plane ride away.

But to be honest, I wouldn't want to date anyone local. Why? Because I can see what is available everyday when I am out and about and I dont see anything appealing. Just call me a snob, I just wont settle for less than what I feel I deserve, not only for myself, but for my son!

I have a theory that only a very small percentage of people here are seriously interested in meeting someone. And I'm positive that NONE of the locals (which I define as anyone within 250 miles of me, because that's where I have my search parameters) are.

I mean, when an Internationally-Known Authorⓒ (and I feel quite comfortable using that overblown self-description, inasmuch as my books have been sold in the US, Canada, and the UK) can't even get any attention on a dating site, something is drastically wrong. You'd think they'd be coming after me for the royalty money, or a chance to be in the movie, or something.

it is clause # 579687257643891.2734851 in MURPHY'S Law

Subpart A: No one you might ever want to date will live within 879,000 miles of you.

Subpart B: If you move near someone who is interested in you, they will vaporize and blow away.

Subpart C: Then and only then will people in your old home town be interested in you.

Because I trust my instincts. If it were meant to be, it would happen.

I have a theory that the Zone of Nonresponsiveness actually follows you wherever you go. I believe that if someone in, say, California, is interested in me, I can then go to California and I will somehow become completely invisible to all Californians once I get there.

It might be genetic, or perhaps I was the target of a voodoo curse when I was a baby.
