Agreed, and the arbitrary couple both own their own houses, have school, work , and children that they cannot give up, or move, etc. etc. etc....

Why is it that all the amazing guys you meet online live in another state? Like they are perfect and everything but the distance is a barrier between them? Oh gee My GF lives in the Philippines, so quite whining. lol |

Again I need to point out that all of these "amazing" people that we've never met might not be so amazing when you actually meet. All the flaws that are unnoticed or put to the side when we engage in this online fantasy romance stuff come out when you do meet.

Because it is easy to seem glamourous, sweet, patient, youthful, smart: whatever a person is looking for long distance. Real life is always going to be pretty much the same because you follow you where ever you go. If you don't change you your life is not going to change. The faces might but not much else.

We build up images of these people we talk to online. I've been on this site for a year now and have seen many train wrecks (my own included) because many of us fail to understand that reality and fantasy tend to be blurred out here. |
