Topic: "With A Real Man Here...." | |
---|---|
Here's another example of "I'm going to send this guy a message without
even bothering to look at the profile." Found this in an inbox on another site which I will not name: ============================================================== i am very caring and loving person..i look forward to meet the man of my Dream that will always be there for me in any situation in life.i like truth and i will love and like my Dream man to be faithful, Honest, trustwhorthy .I really need a very serious relationship with a real man here, am not here to play games, i want to have my own family with a real man here, am honest, caring, humble, passionate, caring, Godfearing, lovely, loyal. I love travelling, dancing, cooking etc, am not getting younger anymore, i want to have my own kids with a real man here, am very serious, i really need a very serious relationship here with someone am gonna spend the rest of my life with inpeace and harmony. ...i want my Dream man to come to me and let start New life together..i am ready to relocate . ============================================================== Seems like a perfectly nice (albeit repetitive) person, but not someone I would ever have any interest in at all. And she would have known that if she bothered to read my profile. I wonder sometimes if these people are just sending dozens or hundreds of these out, completely indiscriminately, to whoever they find on the site....? |

It sounds like some of the ones on a romance scam website I am a member
of anyway. They almost always repeat theirselves and say "am" instead of I am. Sounds strange but its true. There alot of them jout there. I was almost scammed until I found that website and I am glad I did Lex. Very good subject! |

Happens quite a bit, hasnt happened to me here. But usually I put up
the pic with the scar and an explanation of how it happened and when it happened. Then come the emails asking how it happened. |
|
|
|
I received a letter like that on another web site and made the mistake
of answering it. The guy seemed nice for the first week or two then asked me to give him my address so I could help him cash money orders that totalled over $2,000. I told him to take a hike and later found out he did the same thing to other women on the site. Once bitten, twice shy now. |

foregoing email drox, but how did it happen?
Myspace is famous for the scammer emails, used to get them all the time til I made my account private. Besides the am's, and the you are so beautiful, I knew from the minute I saw your picture you were my soul mate...there's the terrible broken engish. Dead give away!!! |

OK, I must admit that it made me giggle. Like the part where she states
she is not getting any younger anymore. I mean was she at one point? If so please message her and ask her what her secret is for me! Then the part where she says "God Fearing" You are right there is no possible way she could have read your profile. No possible way they would of written that to an atheist. and for the simple fact that you are NOT looking for a relationship just proves it again right there. Now I can continue to dissect this, but you and I both know, I know you to well, and it could make for a kind of long response. But no I do not think that they ever read profiles. I think they just copy and past them to a whole swarm of people and then wait for replies. |

I've never gotten anything like this (or the obvious Russians)on JSH.
VC & Mike seem to have been able to weed those out. Right after I signed up on JSH, I DID get a message from a member here, someone who lived very near to me, in fact, giving me way too much information for a first email. Actually was a huge red flag to me, and I never replied. |

I have gotten just a few here. A great big red flag for me is when you
go to their page and they have been a member for like 3 months and they have no friends and their about isn't filled out but they send you an email and the information for their yahoo IM and email and asking for yours! LOL DUH! |

Just for you Cat
If you are reading this then it means I did not feel like taking the time to hand write out a response for you, as you didnt feel like taking the time to read my profile (I love the copy & paste feature). It was a motorcycle accident back in 2002. I took off too fast in the rain, and couldnt lean for the turn I had to make without laying the bike down. I also couldnt slow in enough time so I had to pop a curb. The scar is the only major result of the accident on me. The bike recieved minor wounds as well basically just a scratched up exhaust. |

I get a fair number of random people trying to IM me on Yahoo (even when
I have it set to invisible) -- I look at their profiles, and it's almost always somebody from another continent, and who has little or no personal information shown. I just block those. Really not a problem on JSH; I get plenty of emails, but almost always from people I know and have interacted with on the forums. And very few IMs but that might be because I can't seem to get it to work half the time. But the scammer/spammer/stalker/weirdo emails are something I just don't have to worry about on JSH. |

Just a brief addendum to the original post:
I checked the message again -- she claims to be from Orange Park, Florida, and just joined the other site today! Quick work there, darling. Who knows HOW much you could accomplish "with a real man here" ?? But it ain't gonna be me! |
