Even soldiers cry.


A young man packs his bags,
it's almost time to go.
A young girl curls up crying,
but, he'll never know...

He checks over his equipment
everything's in place.
She's staring, at his picture
while mascara runs down her face.

Walking towards the door,
a bible, lies in sight
several words,
and solemn prayers
the youngman does recite.

The young girl heard a noise,
someone at her door,
the young man left a letter,
a letter, nothing more...

The young girl tore it open,
Tears, soon filled her eyes,
for inside, this little letter said
'even soliders cry'

Im sorry to make you cry, honestly.
But I am glad that my work did evoke emotion ^.^
many people dont realize the stress that the ones we leave behind have to endure. this poem was just to show my appreciation to the ones who stand by me.

Its okay, I cry easily. I know how it feels, I have friends who have been overseas for quite awhile and I pray for them everyday! I miss hearing from them, I wonder all the time if they are safe and are okay. I actually did a penpal adoption program for military people, but sadly, I never heard back from any of them. I know they move around so frequently, but I tried.
