it's also possible that the appology isn't sincere especially if the same person keeps doing things they need to appologize for

Yes, I tend to over-apologize... It is a weakness I have not yet overcome. I apoligize for the slightest things whether real or just perceived by myself as possibly being my fault. I have been told... that I did not need to apologize ever... and then the next words out of my mouth will be "I'm sorry"
