The first week in April, two-thousand and six years past our Lords death,
I first stumbled upon you, my friend, while lost and bewildered yet;
We became and good friends, always talking, always listening.
We have helped each other along over these past two years, teaching
and learning, stumbling and growing, in a friendship doomed to yield.

It has been some time since I have heard your call, though patiently I await,
and when I have gone searching, changed you've become, almost overnight;
We used to agree on many things, argue pleasurably over those we didn't,
No longer do we see eye to eye, No longer can we claim,
that share the same beliefs we still do.

Don't get me wrong, I am not unhappy to have known you, the opposite in fact
you have introduced me to another friend, one who holds my hand in Christ
She and I most certainly agree, on things that are of importance
And when disagree we must, we still agree to love.
For there is not a thing in this world,more important to me than friends.

So it is with much regret, that I must say adieu, goodbye, ciao...
for we have grown too far apart, no longer can we agree, on even the small,
I still follow my morals, I still follow Christs path and read the bible yet,
I know you have diverged, no longer we share the same path,
yet as I leave, trust in me, to always hold out my hand.

Yea, I think I'm going to join you, as this place is not the same, at all. The people aren't the same and your poem says it all......I'm already getting into tiffs with people I don't even know, when I was simply trying to help that chick out. (The one who was complaining about 40 year old men emailing her and how if it wasn't a dating site, she was gone) And honestly, I have no need for any of this either. And I feel very sorry for you, dear...Since you've been a member on here a long time and you were my FIRST friend, yet no one is replying to your emails about being gone, just like no one really replied about me being back. Shows you who your true friends are, in the long run. This is simply just people behind a screen.....Don't let it get to ya, just like I'm not.

the emptyness will never be filled with a coat of paint...people are undeniably great and will show you if you let them

Daniel - I hope you stick around and give this place a chance. I don't come into poems much, hardly at all anymore. I am sorry you have been hurt. This place has changed, lots of new people, but there are a lot of us "old ones" around yet too. Some of us are just lurkers now. I don't post much at all, mostly read.
