Years before and all through my life,
I wondered if ever a child and a wife.
I wondered forever if dreams ever came,
I wondered if ever I was to blame.

A Lifetime of dreams, of wife and a child,
Holding them closer than life was too wild.
I never knew if dreams could be real,
If they were just dreams, I never would feel.

Feelings I had for so many years,
Deep within the dreams were my tears.
Dreams of her holding such a small child,
Looking at me so gentle and mild.

Searching my mind in so many ways,
Crafted, conspired to see through the haze.
I never could see the way to this life,
Living and loving a child and my wife.

You see I was nasty in so many ways,
My anger was vicious and deep in my gaze.
My anger was cruel, and hurt many friends,
I did not deserve a quarter to lend.

I did not feel or show deep inside,
Anger and whispers inside they did hide.
Hidden from life, deep in my dreams,
They wanted out, their feelings were screams.

Screaming for mercy I went to my knees,
Praying upon, a star and my dreams.
Prayers for a life I did not deserve,
Prayed for my life with all of my nerve.

Prayers for a dream, of love and a child,
A smile so precious, gentle and mild.
Prayers to a god I had forgotten,
Prayers from a man who truly was rotten.

I did believe I would never be happy,
Just like a man I once called my Pappy.
I prayed of family, and to be forgiven,
I prayed for a life, to be of the livin’.

I did not believe in answers or prayers,
I did not believe in love or players.
I was mistaken in this little truth,
I could not love since I was a youth.

Now I look back deep in that haze,
Seeing a life, this mouse in a maze.
A mouse was a man that roared as a lion,
Prayers were not answered, he wasn’t buying.

Yet as I see this life that surrounds,
My wife with child, and a love that abounds,
Thinking back to that prayer long ago,
Looking inside a love that I know.

Know my wife is carrying a child,
Feeling this love, its deep and its wild.
I will attest that dreams can come true,
Follow a prayer, my love is for you.

Such inspiration and what a beautiful write to your wife... change starts with the idea of wanting to and anything's possible when we take control of our lives. What a great reminder
