I don't know where you live but around here if you have a land line... You get charged for long distance calls AND you also get charged for NOT making long distance calls.. some kind of fee for not meeting the minimum requirements of your bill and stuff

WTF????

I ONLY use a cell now...

I think it would depend on the plan. Here, we only pay for the long distance we use.

Can you take that off of your bill?

I did. I told the company that I didn't want any long distance services. I use my cell for that. I don't pay it anymore.

the phone company was going to do the same to me. (i told them what i wanted, never another notice from them on long distance charges.) i always buy a phone card, for my long distance calls; at about 2 to 4 cents per minute. The phone company wants to charge WAY TO MUCH for long distance calls.

Indeed.

It's another thing on the mile long list of things that anyone with half a brain knows instictively is wrong, but the other party still gets away with it.

It's just like around here we pay a federal gasoline tax per gallon, then we are charged a state tax on total sale price including that federal tax. So we are being taxed by the state for paying federal tax.

Everyone knows it's wrong, but they get away with it. I mean after all it's only a few cents here and there right?

In fact the last time I actually heard a state congressman questioned about it thier reply was along the lines of 'they have more important things to do, and it would cost more to fix than what is taken from us'.

To hell with whether or not it's just.
