I had a girl over a while ago, and she wanted to cuddle on the couch. My dog kept getting in between us and trying to push her away.
Has this happened to any one else? And how do I get my dog to stop doing that? |

And how do I get my dog to stop doing that? I've heard dogs get territorial with other dogs, I can only assume it would happen as well with someone else...really, I can't think of anything you could do to curb it aside from going somewhere else. Can't really deny the love of a dog I suppose, you could try and train it to not get on the couch...but that's all I can think to do. |

I have a little bitty dog and she is just the same way. I have to put her in her kennel when people come around because she things she is a giant dog and will take someones head off. It is nuts. I have had her going on 8 years and nothing has helped believe me I have tried everything.

Put the dog in a seperate room.
Or just don't go to your place to cuddle. |

My roomate's cat does that. He and I aren't romantic AT ALL but we crash on the same bed (small appartment). His cat wedges himself in the middle and wont move for anything. If he can't do that he will lay on you and slide between lol.
The cat has kicked (or pushed) me off the bed more than once. |

the dog was protecting the integrity of it's pack. It was trying to establish it's dominance over the girl in the pack.
Personally I think Cesar Milan is full of sh*t with his dog whipserer stuff Dogs have been genetically bred for 10,000 years to be subservient to humans. You don't establish dominance over a dog by thinking at his level. Humans dominate dogs. period if your dog is trying to seperate you from your girlfriend you tell him to go lay down. If he won't do it then its your fault |
