What happens at death? Is death the end of everything or is there a soul in man that continues to exist beyond death? If so, is that soul immortal or does it too eventually cease to exist? If the soul does continue to exist after death, what is the nature of that existence? If there is an existence after death, is “good” rewarded and “bad” punished? If so, how do you reconcile this with the concept of predestination? And if there is a God of INFINITE LOVE and FORGIVENESS, how do you reconcile punishment?

it is impossible to simply cease to exist, if nothing more you live on in the memories of others...even after your individuality has been removed the impact of your life on the lives of others continues....every action has an effect and consequence, good or bad...the resulting consequence has the same availability for duality in its impact being good or bad. To reconcile for wrong doings...you must accept responsibility and feel remorse for your actions...there is always more than one side to a story, forgiveness of yourself and others is key..this does not mean you forget the mistakes made or the wrongs done...it means you accept yourself and others as human beings

Smiless Last Question of the Year
OMFG! Um, that was something like about a hundred questions. I would love to tackle all of them, but that would be a week of full-time work for me. So I'll copy them into word a processing document and work on them off-and-on for a while to see If I can come up with anything coherenet enough to post in reply.

Good stuff though. Real "meaning of life".

[edit: I just realized that what you're asking is for a comlete, detailed explanation of an entire philosophy/religion/belief system. Tall order.]

What ever road we walk in life, at the end there is death, and death is just another path. At the end there will be light and peace unknown to us in this life, and there we linger until it is our time to be reborn.

A beautiful universal answer that I believe no one would disagree with, yet I am known to be wrong many times in lifelaugh

What do you expect from a nutcase who is always sent to his roomlaugh

You want to know what happens after death?

Well, first thing that happens is you are taken to a mortuary. Then they suck out all of your blood and replace it with phermaldihyde. They stuff your ass up with cotton, sew your jaw shut and so on. Then they put you in some cloths someone picked out. A bunch of people come and veiw your rotting corpse, and say how natural you look.

Then family and friends will haul you to a spot where a hole has been dug. They will say a few prayers for you, cry a little, sing a hymn and then go eat. You will soon be eaten by worms, but not yet. This spot will be marked with a stone, so that in 200 years, teenagers will know the name of the grave they are having sex on while drinking in the cemetary.

Now, the mortitian is going to demand a lot of money from your relatives, so will a lawyer, and the tax man. All this after they've found you've squandered away all of your funds, probably on something foolish, like a swedish back massager. This causes your family to curse your very name for the next 327 years.

Of course, I'm not a prognosticator, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn Express.

Death and interesting topic. well some times.

I always had a problem with the heaven thing. But I was or thought I was encouraged by the idea of reincarnation. Now I have problems with that. Considering how slowly we seem to learn on this earth I wouldn't want to come back before they got things worked out.

I don't know if people were always as divided as we all now. I guess people before I was born would know more about that, but if we stay on course with these devisions I would not want to come back any time soon.

Some say folks hang out in some other dimension, but what the heck are they doing there? I don't know that i like that much either. If I leave this earth as I am right now, that wouldn't appeal to me because I have not worked out my anger with certain issue yet (psst Christianity), and I don't want to go with out having worked that out. If that makes sense. Maybe I have this awful vision of being stuck in my mind when I leave and some days that's not a particularly peaceful place to be .. grin Meaning some days I feel completely at odds with this life.

I think we humans spend too much time in our heads and we some times appear to be losing it completely with the way we complicate life.

I just hope death is not a scary thing, but most day I don't think about death, or rarely. I once though I was not scared of it at all. How completely naive we are when we are young.. lol

How true you are about what you have said here.

You also mention: I think we humans spend too much time in our heads and we some times appear to be losing it completely with the way we complicate life.

It is true we do spend alot of time pondering on such topics as death, afterlife, and other things that we can't find definitive answers to.

Which dawns on me to actually do less wondering and more enjoying. It is time to take life onto another level and start spending less time on mingle2laugh Well at least for me that is.

Thank you for the lesson. Good answer:smile:

Frankly i think we should be more concerned about our choices, habits, actions, words and thoughts prior to death and how we live our lives then with death itself. If there is a almighty being we have to answer to then i would hope they would be loving and compassionate enough to work out any confusion and suffering that was a result of life. A supreme being that punishes becuase of confusion and simple misunderstandings is not a compassionate or loving one so i could not devote myself to them. The universe wastes nothing and everything is eventually transformed into something else. So in a sense one's soul or essence is immortal. I don't believe in predestination nor do i choose to believe in a supreme being that would punish confused and suffering spirits over simple misunderstandings rather then evil deeds. If this does occur though I am content in the understanding that i was either confused about the matter or lacked the knowledge nesscary to accept such things. just a thought...spock

So you think that message was just for you? Grin! It was a message for me as well. I tend to think too much, and I have to remind myself to stop thinking and just enjoy. I wouldn't know to talk about complicating life if I didn't do it myself. Just don't go to far to the extreme, and stop coming to mingle, I wouldn't want to be responsible for that.. LMAO
