i did not know so many people eat--boxed foods, & canned goods. Did you? I was just in a market; not many people around the fresh produce. (I kid you not ,one lady had about 50 cans of soup & stews.) i was amazed.

Well, where I live, it's sort of common to not eat enough fresh vegetables or fruits. Does making something with a fresh papya, count? I'd like to eat more fresh ones, but the prices are discouraging. I'd rather grow them, but doing that has complications, too.

I love to buy fresh foods, but the prices can be high depending on the time of year. I buy a lot of frozen fruits and vegetables also, and they are much better health wise i think then canned products are.
And depending on what your making it works almost as good as fresh does.
We don`t like to many canned things, but i do on occasions if the prices are right or if there on sale for certain things like clam chowder soup.
Mostly when i don`t have time to cook depending on the week, they come in handy for those times. My kids know how to cook, not to that extent yet, but they are trying to learn.

I fix 99% from scratch with fresh foods

And the people get a kick out of my kids because they are such fresh fruits and veggies freaks of how excited they get picking out which ones they want to eat

Agreed the fresh ones are so expensive depending on the time of year. I love fresh though. I buy all of the above. Depends on my schedule and who does the cooking.
