It SHOULD have taught me that there are better ways to waste 28 years -- but it didn't.

The only good part is I wasted a LOT less time on mine!

to not rush into marriage just because you are simply head over heels and what not...

that its loads of work and communication and good sex is the big key...

biggest fear for me is marriage though whoa

my real father passed when i was 10 months old and my mother stayed single until i was 18. so i didnt really have that married parents thing to look up to. my grandparents were married forever and a day. they didnt sleep in same room, never showed physical love, hug, kiss, etc... but, you just knew they loved each other and always had a mutual respect. i loved them dearly! my mother did remarry when i was 18 to a wonderful man who was there for her in everyway and treated her like gold.

my parents were never married to each other
(product of the late 70's)
but they both married other people when I was 10
and I learned a lot about how I don't want my marriage to be

Mom and Dad just celebrated 55 years of marriage. What they taught me is to respect each other, to listen to each other and to remember that nothing in life is easy---but it is easier with your best friend at your side.

And Dad still gets jealous when other men compliment Mom or kiss her hello....(not crazy jealous, just like "Hey, that's enough!" kind of jealous)

Which marriage are we talking about? Her 1st with my biological sperm donor, or the two times she married and divorced my step~dad who raised us 6 kids and is the greatest man on the earth to me!

Naw, her marriages never taught me anything..other then not get a boyfriend while married to someone else....which I'd NEVER do anyways!!
