Interlude
Perception strains the eyes As reality srikes a heart, Busy as we go While we stumble in the dark. Forgetting bits of time Losing what we may Rushing to and fro With senses somewhat frayed. Always there is something And nothing done just right Searching in the dark While searching for the light. Never it was closer Yet always was the same Waiting for the moment We'd attempt to stop and wait. Now stopped among our hurry With heavy laden lids Tired eyes are burning Crashing in the drift. Memories now are churning Kneading into dream Waking to a sunrise Not real as it should seem. Taking flights of fancy Up to skyward bound Spirals send us crashing Where only oceans may be found. Waking up to grog Another weekend here Time to stop the rushing And hold a loved one near. Now bestilled and silent A moment comes to pass Thought is now a drift As the light within is cast.
