 why is it when you meet a guy they assume your after them to be the new parent?

Well, this is my view on it. If you are a single parent, and you get involved with someone, they'll have to take into consideration that if they make a commitment to you, they also make a commitment to the child. That's a big responsibility for someone to take on and some people are either just not ready for a commitment like that, or just don't want to get involved with that kind of responsibility.

Because alot of women ARE looking for a new parent..I can see where a guy would be a little gunshy about it..

For the same reason I don't date men with children; if I start to really like him we might end up together permanently and I'd be a stepmom. I don't want to be a stepmom. So that's probably the men's reason too.

At my age, I'd "much" rather date a man with children then not. He would know exactly where I'm coming from as a parent.

I have always made myself clear that my daughter already HAS a father...I cannot imagine trying to replace him with another man in her life....
However, I HAVE experienced men who look at me to take care of their kids...so I think its a 2 way street. |
