The Smile.
A smile is someone’s precious gift, To a stranger, lover or a friend This gesture makes our spirits lift, It’s free for all, nothing to spend. So why is it when I look ‘round, A smiling face, these days, is rare. No happiness is to be found, Instead you get an icy stare. Has modern life come down to this? To anger, greed, inflicting pain. I want, therefore I am‘s the creed Your loss, so what, who cares, my gain. Why don’t we all just stop and think, About our fellow man a while No anger, greed, inflicting pain So simple, it starts with a smile. So try to smile at everyone And make sure that it’s from the heart. From the days’ dawn to setting sun It won’t solve all, but it’s a start. |
