I had a dream
that I was walking
down a flight of stairs
and then I turned to the railing
and saw a woman
with long blond hair.
Her hair quickly darkened
and as my jaw dropped in awe,
She turned into a spider,
one of the deadliest of all.
Black was her coat
and grotesque was her body
She looked at me with greedy eyes
she looked as if she was hungry.
That is when my fate was sealed
as I was caught up in her web.
Unable to release myself
as we drew nearer to being newly weds.
She doug her fangs into my breasts
soffocating my screams
and like the spider
cruel and scary
the widow became my queen.
This is not how I intended to die
not in the least bit my desire
as I awake
for goodness sake
thank god it was just a dream.
I look over
and to my horror
my hands and feet
are still bound to her web of deceit.
