Redshirt,
In May, Boeing said it would cut 6,500 to 7,000 jobs over the next two years, mainly because of the end of F-15 production. That equals one half of 1 percent of all jobs in St. Louis. |

Maybe Budweiser will go out of business and Americans will start drinking real beer? Mmmmm New Belgium Brewery to the rescue. Or even Schlafly or Boulevard. I drive by Schlafly on Manchester all of time. Sometimes they have bands there. Im still not sure if I want to support them yet. Its great to support local anything but Im trying to find out if Phyllis Schlafly has any ties to the brewery. If so I want nothing to do with it. You may remember her from all the protests at Wash U last spring. Wash U wanted to give her an honorary degree but what people didnt know is that she is a professional anti-feminist who believes married women cant be raped among other ridiculous things. Needless to say people werent happy with the Wash U decision. |

That woman would even like to have a ban on women working in construction and firefighting. She's nuts if she thinks that women can't be raped just because they're married. I think she might be distantly related somehow to the brewery but I don't know how. |

Wow Winx, thats a huge hit to the local economy, especially to the local and state tax base, which drive lots of services for the out of work.
Not good for local families either. ![]() Its funny how in a consumer driven economy so many are getting layed off, which in turn drives down consumer spending. A vicious cycle. |

August Bush Jr. is a friend of mine. They sold because they seen thing were out of control and took the chance to sell when they could.
They do have a verbal agreement that this German company would not lay off workers or they would not of sold. The Bush family has a long history of taking good care of thier workers since thier grampa founded the Business. Makes me wonder in the article says almost to the day if the agreement was not for a year. Nothing new when foriegners come in. It is all about money |

For those worring about thier jobs in distributing west of the Missouri River at St Charles Mo.
August bought out all the Distributers. He is a good guy he will forfiet his profits to keep families working. He just got married himself this year |

Another thing I thought I might add to those of you who live in Florida.
Augusts sister Owns Bush Gardens. You would never know it as she likes to do gardening. She is not in the office. She works with maintence to make sure everythings looks nice. If they did not have Steve for a Brother they would be the nicests family you ever met. You would never know they are Billionaires. Not to many are like them.. Sorry Steve go back to your country club ![]() |

Not in Florida. At least I do not think so. August sister went down thier because she loves the outdoors and the Gardens.
I would be hard pressed that the one in Florida did not stay with her. |

I know the problem behind this...i haven't worked in six months...it was bound to impact the company. Lets get back to the "giving back to the community" thing...where do i sign up?
![]() Seriously, the economy is in major league trouble, was talking to my mom earlier, she has lost 40,000 with Merrill Lynch..it's not good folks. The downside, is the projections aren't looking good either. This could well turn out to be, the biggest recession the U.S. has ever seen. It also stands to reason, that with the election of a new president, uncertainty will play a big part over the next few months. |

It's not a German company, btw. Bush's family history is a moot point at this time. They don't it anymore. In-Bev is known for lay offs and cut backs and for busting the union.`That's how they get their money back after an acquisition. Btw, in high school I lived across the street from Grant's Farm. The son shot one of my classmate's brothers. I heard the shot. |

August did not want to really sell. This is Big Time Brother Steve's doings. Who kept himself on the board and an exucutive job I believe.
August did not fit in the meetings coming in, in a T-shirt and holey Blue Jeans with his favorite Cardinal Baseball cap on. ![]() That is why before anything was said quietly bought bought out all the distibuters so that he could have control himself. nothing changed really thier. He has little to do with it except he will say if layoffs happen. He knows that his money can be put to better use than jet setting around the world. Which he does some since he got married. But he was thinking about people period when he bought that out. Few realize why he did it. |

Miles, You might want to look at this. http://www.google.com/search?ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=navclient&gfns=1&q=does+in-bev+own+bush+gardens+in+FL%3F It appears that the big question is when In-Bev is going to sell the all of the theme parks. |

That sucks. Sounds Like Steve is working Hard. It maybe that August and his sister are going to buy all of them this way. I do not understand. He told me they got 57 Billion a year ago. I thought it was sold along time ago and it say 52 and just happened. She will buy it I would put money on it I thought they got 19 Billion each. She can buy it easily and I bet August will help.. They get along fine those 2 at least |
