I'm pretty good at calling when I say I will. If I can't, I'll text or something and let them know I'm busy.. or let them know I was busy and couldn't call. Or, I'll just call quickly and say I'm busy and ask if I can call later on. I don't think something like that is too much to ask for.

He wasn't happy when I told him that I get irritated when people don't call when they say they will... and all that. So he suggested that he doesn't call again. LOL oh well!

I guess I'm weird then, because if someone says "I'll call you tomorrow" I expect them to do it. If they don't, yes I'm very irritated. I would rather someone not say anything at all if they have a habit of not keeping to their word. I have a busy life and if I'm given a time that someone is going to call I arrange my own stuff around it.....so as not to appear rude when they do call. Blow me off and I'm likely to not speak to you for awhile. Happened to me last night and I was waiting to go to bed until the phone call was over. I went to bed mad.

I just thought about this.
We get aggrivated when our pizza doesn't arrive in thirty minutes or less. Or when the UPS man is late. Or when a TV show is unterrupted by an unscheduled weather report or some for of news break. Or if you expect to pick up a watch on a certain day it is to be done, only to call and find out it won't be done when they said it would. We get aggrivated at these inconveniences. And yet, we will make excuses as to why "we" didn't call someone when we said we would. Or we didn't do what we promised. Weird. |

I don't make excuses... because I do it! but if an emergency comes up... then it doesn't happen.. then I have a reason. |

Do you get irritated when someone says they will call in a hour and they don't? Even if you know that they had company, and might not of got rid of them until late. Do you still expect that person to call or email you to explain why they didn't call when they said that they would? I get mad at myself for that all the time lol |

I always wonder if a person can't keep little promises how are they going to be on the big ones? It is a matter of committment. And how courteous they are as a person over all. If a person is cronically blowing off the promises they make to others you shouldn't be surproised when they do it to you where it really counts.

What is even more iritating is the people who say "we'll talk tomorrow"..and tomorrow comes and goes. Sure I understand people are busy but if you say you were going to do something, then at least follow up. I think those are more iritating than knowing a person says they'll call in a hour since most of those people usually call back when they can.

I think it depends on the situation. If you know they have company, so there is the possibility they won't be able to call on time, then there is leeway. But if they don't have that excuse and try to say "I forgot", then if that is something that happens alot, then no don't like it.
