It is scary to think how fast children grow up these days. Being in education, I've seen kindergarteners that talk about sex and stuff like that. There's no certain age when all children should be told. If depends on each child individually, if they are mature enough to handle the information.

Parents should be the first line of communication, but unfortunately parents and/or the child is uncomfortable talking with each other.
I am comfortable talking about most anything with my child. I want her to have the facts, correct information before she goes and tries to get it else where. The best thing I can arm my child with is education. I think the real "loss of innocense" comes from kids having babies.

True... It's sad to see so many 6th and 7th babies having babies of their own. The stories you hear from the kids. God knows when I was that age I didn't know nearly what kids today do.

This is how the daughter in the movie "Knocked Up" described how babies are born. I love this.

"Well. I think a stork, he umm, he drops it down and then, and then, a hole goes in your body and there's blood everywhere, coming out of your head and then you push your belly button and then your butt falls off and then you hold your butt and you have to dig and you find the little baby."

My Mom was rather progressive & told me the whole truth & nuthin' but the truth at around age five. With a large family there is never any privacy & you may as well throw modesty out the window...we were used to seeing our parents in their undies...

So, I thought about it for a while & since I couldn't grasp the attractivenes of "nekkid closeness", I finally came to a conclusion & blurted out "OH! So THAT'S why there are holes in your underwear!"
