It's pretty cold here, and I have morning chores to do regardless of the weather! Horses do not like to be kept waiting. And stall need to be cleaned and hay needs to be put out. This winter has not been fun with all the rain and mud. Now the extremely cold temps. Brrrrrrrrrrr!

hg, you have my sympathies, I probaby couldn't handle it It just a part of having horses, have to do it for long it just natural to do. The only time that is ruff is when you are sick. That is bad, I just as little as possible but still take care of them.

That is bad, I just as little as possible but still take care of them. Back when I was a boy (12) I used to ride my bike about four miles to these Boarding/Rental Stables at 6:30 am on the weekends. My best friend's Dad owned the stables. The two of us would brush down,clean up and saddle/bridle the whole rental string. Then we would clean border's stalls and feed them. For all this I would then get to Ride Trail all the rest of the day. It was a dream come true. Some of those days were freezing, at least for me. I kind of get the picture of what you are doing there.

I have had horse about all my life, talking care of them have change a little, when we were kids we didn't have as many disease that could harm a horse. So now twice a year we give the shots to ward off these diseases. Basic care is still the same, clean, feed, farrier, worm monthly.
