It isn't always a good idea... and nor is dating someone you met from a club.. Or dating someone you have known for 12 yrs. Or dating someone that you do business with... or dating someone that works at a place that you frequent.. Or dating a person that lives 200 miles.. Or dating your neighbor.. Or dating the guy that has been divorced 5 times... or dating the guy that is 45 and never been married... or dating the one who just got divorced .... so tell me..... cant you find something wrong with every guy? Nothing is gonna be perfect or just the way you want it. thats in a unrealistic world. That's true. I just say that cause it's hard to get away from the person if you work with them. But yes, nothing will be perfect.  I say its much better than dating your neighbor! Especially if you are both home owners

Ever think that perhaps he wants to promote you? that he likes you for a friend and wants to tell you over sushi? Are you attracted to him? Is that why you are nervous around him? Ever hear of a good place to meet people to date is at work? I know I have.. I say go.. find out the intentions then either worry about it or go with it... IMO the remarks above are the reasons people dont get asked out... left and right women threaten with suit of sexual harrasment etc.. It is not sexual harrasment that he asked you out for sushi.... and most men arent the type to take it out on you <if you choose to say no>... unless he has a pattern of this at the workplace that you know of... Dating someone you work with usually isn't a good idea. I agree w/Buttons..... |

Relax, you should be able to turn him down (or not) as you choose. I'm sure he is a nice normal guy who will understand, especially if you explain to him that you would not feel comfortable dating your boss. But save your text just in case; if he does try to discriminate you should be able to bring it to your HR department without losing your job. And if that doesn't work, I have the contact information for the EEOC; I would be happy to share.
