Excellent thread, very true. You know your a writer when you shop for the perfect tools but spend more time daydreaming about character scenes rather than writing them, oh that's just me, lol I need to get back to writing soon. giggles

i knew i was a writer when the same damned dream kept repeating over and over and over again to the point that i couldn't sleep at night.

this was cute.

i fought the whole writer thing for years then.. i got so obsessed with the story that i did nothing but writing for months until the novel's first draft was finished. lol

You know you're a writer when you sleep with a note pad and pen by your bed side.

You know you're a writer when you day dream as you watch the news and a news item stirs your imagination.

You know you're a writer when you hit that eureka! moment and you franticly scribble it down and no one else can decipher it.

You know you are a writer when you are woken up at 3am hit by inspiration for a new story and forget it all by the time you turn your computer on.

This is what happens to me all the time by the way. I forget what I am suppose to write and end up not being able to sleep, because I am trying to figure out what I was suppose to write. What makes it worse is that I swear that this would have been the ultimate idea to spark up a chapterlaugh

This just gave me a picture cause I'm thinkin' about Jeff Foxworthy voice and "You Mi---ght Be a Wri----ter" with Writer's block with a book jacked up on cement blocks, inky blades of grass waving in the wind in front trying to weave into words to complete the trailer of thought and better "jack-up" the story...................

Yes writers are a unique race. Many believe they are always in a different world because they are never present with the group. They call us daydreamers!laugh and we are many times. Ideas have to come from somewhere.

Having the first draft is always a huge accomplishment in my opinion. Just to get what you have to say out on paper isn't as easy as everyone thinks it to be. I congratulate you in giving birth to a babylaugh

"What makes a writer is simple: The act of writing. How the writing happens (via madness or exhibitionism or the desire to be paid) is to a great extent immaterial; writers are judged by their output, not their process. If you're entirely "normal" and yet write sparkling prose (which can happen), you're a writer. If you're nuts and you do the same, then you get to be a writer, too"................... I do not claim ownership of these words.

I still have that little glitchy moment when someone refers to me that way....

"Me? An author?"

Thank you!

Speaking of writing, is anyone familiar with a site called bookrenter.com?

The reason I'm asking is because I just found out both of my books are available through them, and I never heard of the site before....!

Wow your book is really coming around. I never heard of that site, but trust me you want your book on as many sites as possible. The more the better!

It must be a good read or it wouldn't be going to other sites this quickly.

Just been informed that they are also now available on abebooks.com and alibris.com.

Apparently there are a lot of websites I've never heard of before!
