Well there a few kinds of poles that entertain me. Stripper poles, Festivus poles and tent poles /smirk ha ha Sorry my inner 12 year old boy sense of humor is showing. Mix that with my nearly always dirty mind and I have been smirking and giggling for the last 30 minutes while I read jokes about poles on the web. |

Oh for pete sakes!!
Happy holidays is inclusive and respectful of everyone, works for me, and so far as I can see just about everybody. Funny I never actually see all the people *****ing and complaining about it except on tv, so there can't be all that many that would vote for such a thing. Or at least I hope not. |

Here we go again another season and a fresh bunch of folks saying there's a war on Christmas. Guess it plays well and gets press...so it must be true right? Is a retailer saying Happy Holidays a war on Christmas? Or is it simply showing respect for others beliefs? What about saying Merry Christmas to people who are not Christians? Is that a war on Hanukkah? This guy seems to have it all figured out. Utah lawmaker proposes resolution to embrace Christmas SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - State Sen. Chris Buttars is sponsoring a resolution asking the Legislature to declare its opposition to what he calls the war on Christmas. Buttars, R-West Jordan, wants retailers to embrace Christmas in their promotions, saying the United States is a Christian nation and ought to use the holiday's name. Buttars says several fellow lawmakers support his effort, though he wouldn't name them. The resolution is still being drafted. One local advertising executive, Dave Newbold, says no one should force their beliefs on others. And Jim Olsen, president of the Utah Retail Merchants Association, says it would be difficult for retailers to stick to using just Christmas if they are part of national promotions that don't use the name of the holiday. I AGREE THEY SHOULD USE THE TRUE NAME OF CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION OF THE WINTER SOLACE/SOLSTICE Solstice rites are one of our oldest celebrations, dating back to the dawn of modern civilization some 30,000 years ago http://www.abc.net.au/victoria/stories/s1391700.htm |
