My parents don't really have an issue with it. I only really get questions about it from random men on here.

I'm 30, have never been married and have no kids. Is that really that strange? I get questions about it sometimes. I guess I don't find it strange because most of my friends in this area are the same way. Those who are married with kids have recently gotten married or had kids.

It ain't weird if it's the prevailing trend nowadays. People all over the place simply aren't getting hitched and/or poppin' out with the rugrats, and it's a trend that's been going on for at least a decade.

A part of has to do with a poor economy (why put yourself even more into financial disarray by having more mouths to feed) as well as bad past experiences with marriage and child-support issues. Others have either grown up in a kind of single-parent household, so they simply don't know what it's like to be a part of a "real family".

I'm 35 and I haven't been married nor have I had any kids, as well. Most of that stems from having a piss-poor childhood with parents who fought almost constantly. So, in a way, it's kinda like a form of negative reinforcement.

perhaps, You should "take" those questions as compliment.....

Because you are so awesome...they can not believe you are still single...

You mean like the "So, why is a girl like you looking for a man?" (something similar to an earlier email)

Nice to see that some others don't find it strange.

Most of the people I went to high school with did get married right out of school and now have 3-4 kids. Which is fine. But, when I moved out of town and met a whole bunch of new people.. they were all more like me. Not rushing to marry.
my brother is 40 and has never been married or kids....i got married at 28 and was almost 30 b4 my 1st kid was born, then 40 b4 my 2nd so no its not weird. its smartflowerforyou

I had a good childhood and my parents are still married. I just haven't found someone I wanted to actually be married to, I guess.

Yet another person asked about this again today. Guess it's the week for this question.

Say you'd rather not say exactly why, but let it slip that you have turned down three proposals of misongynistic servitude!

my guess would be they want their genes passed on to the future

and the older you get after a certain age (they think it is 30 something obviously)[probably close to correct]

the health risks increase

and if yer 32 when you decide to do it you will be 53 when they reach 18

just my observation of the available info given

yer an adult and can make yer own decision

but should get accurate information to make such an important decision

may much good come to you and yours

its a grandparent thing flowerforyou flowerforyou flowerforyou

That's all fine and good... but a parent shouldn't be deciding when their daughter should have children. And, you can have children after you're 30 .

did you miss the line

yer an adult and can make yer own decision

and i never said you could not have children after 30 my mom was 44 when my sister was born

i was not condoning nor condemning

i was explaining imo why they feel the way they do

understanding can lead to less fighting over the situation at hand

if she explains what they are thinking to them and lets them know she understands how they feel

it may reduce the demanding that is taking place

Adj4u,

The risks of childbirth goes up closer to 40. It isn't an issue in the early 30's.

Just a tidbit of information.bigsmile

A couple of years ago my doctor told me that the risks really go up in the 40's. Yep, I was considering it.glasses

He did say it was more difficult to get pregnant as you get closer to 40.
