So...you ladies got the hots for the new-fangled cowboy types? Maybe your mothers saw a few stars, too...back in the day. <---remembers Eddy Arnold, Duke Morrison (aka John Wayne), Gene Autry, Roy Rogers and others. John didn't like singing, wasn't good at it, so he quit singing, and we were glad. But he was still a fine gent. The movie/recording people hired Gene Autry, to replace John. Gene became a career singer because Will Rogers told him that he had the talent. Gene didn't get much $$$, and then he quit. The studios replaced Gene Autry with Roy Rogers. In the meantime, back at the ranch.... Eddy Arnold became a solo star, at the Grand Ole Opry. Like John and Roy, Eddy leveraged his talent to do more, gained acting jobs, and went on to be one of the most successful and famous C&W personalities of all time. Eddy, John, and Roy...the examples that I grew up with. Good men.
