I work at home doing MT (no, it's not like on the "work at home"
commercials; I spent 2 years studying to do this) and it is all done
over the internet. I have never even met the woman I work for! I have to
have *some* contact with the outide world, lol.

I have an MT certificate, but primarily do "nonmedical"
editing/proofreading. Been happily doing it for seven years now, too.

And I can tell you how...it's EASY. I mean, the work's not always easy,
but not being around people is a most welcome blessing. When I work, I
work; I don't socialize.

Having been around people in both a work and social environment all my
life, I more than welcome the solitude. If I get a hankering to "be
around people," I can always go to Walmart, way I see it.

Or to my neighbor's house..she talks enough for 20 people! lol.

And not having to put on a monkey suit every day? I LOVE it!!! No
driving through rush-hour traffic; I set my own hours. No answering to
anyone, so long as I adhere to the terms of my contracts.

There are a few downsides to it, of course, but I'll happily "sacrifice"
being around people any day versus giving up the freedom of being my own
boss.

I am a comp. tech. I work on comp. all day, so it's in my job
description to be on the comp.

Not being chained to someone else's desk is wonderful. The last
"inhouse" job I had at a hospital. . .technically, we were allowed to
clock in 10 minutes early or late. That was the policy written in the
handbook. My boss printed out everyone's time sheets, and if you clocked
out a minute early (even if you had clocked in 10 minutes early), she
would circle it in red. Or if you clocked in and out exactly correct to
the second, she would put it on your desk with a happy face drawn on it.
Not that she was busy doing anything else, like dealing with real
personnel issues; she had no idea what she was doing.

Worked for or owned a 24/7 business, since I was in my teens. Work was
my #1 thing, even before familybecause that was how the family got
things; I thought. Learned different the hard way. Sold business in 04
& worked there till March 06. Have been involved with a R & D company,
in a different field for 6yrs. Wanted to go this way & am doing it.
Much happier, lots more fun & still my own business, FANTASTIC.
Read Trump & kiyosaki's book, good thoughte & lesson.
