Life can be pretty tricky at times,if you plan every move it never turns out the way you want and if you don't plan anything at all usually the unexpected happens.

In my case I fell in love with someone who was 20 years younger and she felt the same way about me;we were together about 8 years with big plans and then out of nowhere she developed rare cancer passing away in less than a year and I lost her.So, my philosophy is quite simple...when it comes to real LOVE grab it to enjoy it for as long as you can and who cares about age/race/nationality/wealth/etc as long as you're both mature adults seeking the same thing...just be true to yourself and if you have genuine integrity/honor/values everything should resolve itself in time and happiness is what counts the most in the end.

Still,if you know in your heart/soul it's not working out move on to find the real thing not to miss out on something special and when you do find it keep it without playing any silly games and fight not to lose it.

No comments on your friend's situation as we don't have all the facts, but if they were meant to be together they will be and they won't use each other...he sounds smart so let him find the right answers...if not they'll both walk away and find what they're looking for whether it's love or not.

I saw a lot of people walk away from their spouse or companion in the Palliative Units when they knew there was no hope left, therefore each case also depends on what the individual wants out of life and when it comes to LOVE there's only one thing...to love each other.

I don't intend to post further...just wanted to express this simple opinion.Good luck to all.
