People ask me all the time "Where they at?" I lie and tell them I don't know. I know where the biguns are at. Its time and money and preparation I don't have much of. I've seen at least 3 big bucks in my backyard that would have scored over 204 recently. But the hunters were out all weekend (shotgun) going up the river in boats. I heard over 100 individual shots saturday as I spent the whole day fixing window frames dangling 6 stories off the ground and insulating my deck. I don't know if they got any of my bucks or if they already had their bucks and were filling T zone doe tags. You shoot a buck then you can shoot 20 does. I will find out on the tag board this next weekend.

I was a wuss this year. New area and only went two miles in. I know, I know!

The harvest is down in numbers. The big racks are up. We are having a late rut. We had a few unseasonal warm days in the beginning of november. The deer ate and chilled. My neighbor got a 600 pound black bear in my backyard we didn't know was there. My father and I agreed that we were glad we didn't run into him out stomping around in the woods. Made me think a bit. I'm carrying bear bells from now on unless I'm armed.

And they wonder why I carry a 45 mag every where I go.
