Some of the sweetest dogs I've ever been around were pit bulls. I'm not just saying that because I'm a proud owner, but I'm speaking the truth. It always breaks my heart to hear these kind of stories, because I know that at some time the dog had been abused or neglected. That is the only way a dog will lash out in anger. I think people need to be more careful about who should be allowed to have certain breeds. Maybe background check anyone who wants a pit bull, rottie, bull mastiff, etc...

Just a thought.

The breeders need to take temperment into consideration when breeding. It's a shame that we have so many problems in so many breeds. Some lines of cocker spaniels are known to be very unpredictably aggressive. Families of dogs with these tendencies should not be bred, not matter what breed. I am sure there are nice family lines of pitt bulls, but they are mostly being bred for & encouraged to be aggressive.

I once had a Chesapeake Bay Retriever that was a problem dog. He had the best of worlds raised from a puppy. But he had "fear-aggression". Any thing he was scared of he tried to kill

and he was scared of EVERYTHING. With the family he was a lapdog. but with anyone else he was a danger. We never had the heart to put him down (he died of old age) but if he ever got out and mauled someone like that I would expect to be completely responsible and liable.

And I would expect the same from anyone else

Absolutely. If my dog ever hurt another person or animal, I would take full responsibility. It's never the dogs fault, because they are truly innocent and run on pure instinct.
No disrespect intended plz. Are you finacialy secure enough to pay the bills if something did happened. Im not questioning your dog but accidents do happen..

Haha. I'm so broke I cant even pay attention.

If you knew my dog, you wouldnt question me, and you would laugh that you did. She's a pit mix and she weighs about 30 pounds.

A friend of mine was bit walking to my house by a pit bull. It took a trip to the ER and 10 stitches, $1600!! The dog was impounded and quarantined for 10 days. The owners who are renters, paid a $500 dollar fine and retrieve the dog. A little time later the dog came after me. I called the sheriffs office and was told they would respond. One hour later I called back and ask if they were coming. I was told that the sheriff only responds if the dog bites and animal control was called and they would call them again. This was 10 pm. At 10:45 someone from animal control called me mad that he was woke up and told me they don't respond after hours and would not come till in the morning. So I guess if your being chased by a MAD dog after hours you better let it bite you or no one will respond..My friend tried to sue but the dogs owners didn't have any money and flat out said they were in debt $30,000 and wasn't paying ****. They have $500 to bail out the dam dog but cant accept responsibility for it.My friend got nothing and the dam dog is still sometimes running loose. If it bites me or mine I will kill the little f... myself and probably end up in jail....Florida is great!!!
